1.0 out of 5 stars Iron WAS Good, August 22, 2011
This review is from: Shark GI435 Professional Iron
Originally, I thought this was one of the best irons I ever had. I bought this iron August 12, 2010. I have used it every week since then to do my ironing, which usually consists of 4 or 5 men's shirts, 2 pair of pants and a couple of women's blouse, each week. Today, 1 year and 12 days after the purchase, the iron doesn't work any longer. When I contacted the company, I was told they would still cover it under the warranty, but I would have to pay more than 1/2 the original cost to get a replacement, or pay $12.95, sent the iron back and they would either repair or replace it. I was told this process would take at least 3 weeks. I can't go 3 weeks without an iron so I chose to go out and buy my own replacement. I can get several inexpensive irons, which may only last a year or 2, for what this one would have cost me in one year.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Iron for the Money, February 19, 2011
This review is from: Shark GI435 Professional Iron
Purchased this product a couple weeks ago from Target for $40 and love it. Before this I had a Rowenta, which I thought was the best iron ever until I discovered the Shark. The Shark costs half as much and irons just as good, if not better. The steam on this product is absolutely amazing. It truly feels like a commercial-quality product. My only concern is longevity. Some of the other Shark products have received poor reviews because they stop working after a couple months. Got my fingers crossed that this is a better product.

1.0 out of 5 stars Expensive and defective, October 9, 2011
This review is from: Shark GI435 Professional Iron
I bought this iron thinking it would be good since it was expensive and looked heavy duty. However, any time the iron turned it self off (safety shutoff), it would never become hot enough to use again (I always gave up after 15 minutes). Also, after ironing on a higher heat setting and then adjusting to a lower heat setting, the light that indicates that the iron is ready to use would not turn on (I gave up after about 10 minutes) - I would not want to start ironing if there's a possibility that the fabric could be damaged because the heat is still too high. I returned the iron for a cheap (~$20) Hamilton Beach model at Walmart and have had no problems with the new one.
