Japanese design really shines, June 21, 2008 By This review is from: Panasonic NI-A57SR Steam/Dry Iron with Stainless Steel Soleplate (Kitchen) It proves again Japanese design and quality control is top notch. This iron is a high quality product from very prospective. 4 things I love about it that are not found on other brands:
1) great steam, the burst of steam can keep up very well (most American brand will weaken after 3-4 bursts w/o allowing time to reheat)
2) very smooth stainless steel plate glides very effortless on clothes, the grooved and pointed plate also allow you to get into very tight corners or in between buttons.
3) the water sprout cover has double rubber seals!!! (none of the American brands (Sunbeam, Black & Decker, GE, etc). If you tilt the iron, water wont' leak out of the cover like it would with the brands mentinoed above.
4) retractable cord CLIP!!! - the little clip on the side allow you neatly tug the cord. (none of the American brands have it)

Then I decided to buy my own. Its very ease to use and is seems to just glide right over the garments. It takes the drudgery out of ironing.

This is the first iron I've had that doesn't leak spots of water on my clothing as I iron.
