Best Iron I Ever Owned, October 1, 2011 By This review is from: Kalorik Steam Iron with Thermocolor System. (Kitchen) I've spent so much of my life using cheap $25 irons that drip and frustrate me.. it's sad to think that I could have spent a little bit more and bought a quality iron like this sooner!
This iron is really cool! First of all, it's full size and solidly built. The part that I love about it the most is that it doesn't drip water, no matter what setting it's at. I don't know about you, but dripping water on an iron makes me want to pull my hair out, so this is definitely worth while. It also has an "anti-calc" system in the water tank, meaning it filters the water for you so that there's no calcium build up on the iron or your clothing. It says in the manual that you need to change the filter around every 6 months. The filters are about $10. This iron also has a self cleaning feature which I think is really neat.
So why did I give it 4 stars and not 5? Something that bugs me about this iron is that on the temperature dial it doesn't say which setting for which... Read more
Very Disappointed, March 6, 2012 By Amazon Verified Purchase This review is from: Kalorik Steam Iron with Thermocolor System. (Kitchen) I was really looking forward to receiving this iron. I was intrigued by the Therocolor System and expected good things from the Kalorik name. Unfortunately, I had to send it back. Upon trying the iron it seemed to work very well. After ironing a couple of items, I turned it off, unplugged it and left it sitting upright on my ironing board. The next morning I noticed a small puddle of water on the ironing board. It leaked from the base overnight. I notified Amazon of the issue and they contacted the seller who immediately sent me a replacement. I was impressed with that. Unfortunately, when I received the replacement a couple of days later....it was worse than the original. The seller sent me a return label and issued a refund for the iron. I returned the first iron, but am still waiting for a return label for the replacement iron.
